Summer internships begin in May and run through beginning of August, though we do not put an end date on the internship program.

We have close to 100 interns over the summer across all areas of the organizations: National Security, Environment & Infrastructure, Health, as well as corporate intern positions.

Fall and spring Co-op positions are available as well, for students who want to take a semester off of coursework (or have a lighter course load) and gain real-world experience.
The Application Process: What to Expect We understand the application process for internships can sometimes be a stressful experience. We want to provide as much information as possible to our applicants to help calm any nerves you may have. Here are our typical recruiting timelines
 
September-October

Postings for Spring Co-Op and Summer Internships go live! You can find positions posted at battelle.org/internships as well as Handshake. Please check each individual posting for application deadlines. September and October are the busiest months for university recruiting, so be sure to stop by and say “hi!” if we’re coming to your campus!
Late September-November Interview season! Keep a close eye on your email for an invite for an initial interview with a recruiter. This is typically a 20-30 minute phone conversation where we want to get to know more about you, your skills and goals as they relate to the internship you’ve applied for. From there, hiring teams will select candidates for final round interviews. This is where you’ll have a chance to meet some members of the team you’ll be on if selected – be yourself and remember that this is a two-way conversation. You’ll do great! Sometimes there is a technical skills assessment included with the interview process. Your recruiter will prep you in advance if this is the case.
