TSA Senior Test Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Test Engineer. This position located in Arlington VA.
Battelle’s Critical Infrastructure and Security Resilience (CISR) Business Line group is seeking a senior test engineer to lead the research, development, test and evaluation of security systems and technology for both the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration. This is a full-time position and the selected candidate will work in Battelle’s Crystal City Operations in Arlington, Virginia.
Primary responsibilities include leading test engineers in test planning, test article design and manufacturing, test conduct, data collection, reduction, and analysis, and test reporting. Technical areas applicable include non-intrusive inspection and associated scientific disciplines, physical security applications, command and control integration, human factors, operations research, statistics, and engineering. Candidate will be expected to train and provide day to day direction lower level staff to help improve technical development.
Candidate may also participate in scientific conferences, support and/or lead technical proposal development.
Work is performed both in the field and at the TSA Systems Integration Facility (TSIF) located at the Ronald Reagan Nation Airport. Candidate is required to interact directly with the client on a regular basis and should have strong oral and written communication skills. Additionally, candidate should also have excellent computer skills including expertise in the use of applicable Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
- The candidate must have at least a BS in engineering or physics from an accredited college or university.
- Experience required is 8-10 years of technical work experience.
- The candidate must be able to travel, be a self-starter, and a team player.
- Travel is expected to be up to 25%.
- Sole US Citizenship with the eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance and to obtain TSA Security Suitability.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Already possess a Secret Security Clearance.
- Already possess TSA Security Suitability.
- Possess a MS or PhD level degree in an engineering or other technical field.
- Experience in the test and evaluation of Transportation Security Equipment (TSA).
- Experience applying statistics to analyze and report test results.
- Experience designing and/or implementing data collection hardware and techniques.
